Career Day

- Ovechkin recently filmed a spot for TSN's SportsCentre, joining fellow NHLers Martin Brodeur, Tie Domi, and of course Sidney Crosby. (One question - how the heck did Domi get in there??) This acting gig continues the list of professions that Ovie could try should this whole hockey thing not work out. That includes but is not limited to the following: blogger, golfer, actor, spokesman, model, DJ, chiropractor, fashion designer, philanthropist, real estate agent, party planner, and superhero.

-
Don't look now, folks, but these scrappy guys from DC are now sitting at second in the Southeast Division and 6th in the Eastern Conference. Sure, we can say it's still early, wait and see, exercise cautious optimism, etc. But the fact remains that we're closing in on the first quarter of a season in which the Caps were predicted to finish dead last and instead have picked up points in 10 of their first 14 games.

Regardless of what happens (and there's your cautious optimism), I'm proud of the job they've done so far and I'm confident that the next few years are going to get better and better for this organization.

By the way, so do some other people - here's some more
Ovechkin/Caps love from the MSM...

...and Olie-love from a SportingNews.com blogger...

...and Olie/Pothier/Ovie love from Canoe.ca...

...and an older article about Morrisonn's return to Vancouver.
