Here's something to talk about - check out Mike Vogel's recap of a father-son trip up to the Swamp for Saturday's fantastic double overtime game:
This is both a great summary of a great game and just a beautifully told story of a father, a son, and hockey. I think it can also serve as further proof that the way playoff games are decided is perfectly fine - those of us who watched those extra periods Saturday night can testify that it was some of the best hockey we've had all postseason, a sentiment I'm sure is enhanced when viewed live.
I wish I could say that I was on Vogel's payroll or got some other benefit out of constantly praising him, but unfortunately neither is true (at least not yet - any job openings, Mike? Need an assistant?). I think we're so lucky to have someone writing about our team who is so obviously passionate about hockey. Hopefully next season he'll be writing about the Caps postseason triumphs, but until then its nice to be continuously mesmerized by the magic that is playoff hockey, no matter who the teams are. It's almost enough to make us forget that his son is a Devils fan. Yikes.

CC,
Thanks for the mighty kind words. And don't worry too much about The Dude. He likes the Devils, and the Isles and a few other teams. But he hates Buffalo, Atlanta and the Pens. The Caps are his favorite team by far. He'll be okay if they'll be okay.
I guess I shouldn't be talking since I'm a Habs fan, which causes my dad plenty of heartache.
And as long as that hatred of Buffalo, Atlanta and Pittsburgh is there I think you're right - he'll be okay. :)
