Note to Self: Use Magic for Good, Not Evil

Psssst....

I've just discovered the secret to make the Penguins lose. Are you ready?

Come in closer...a little closer...

I have to root for them.

It's true! I should have known after all these years of rooting for the Caps, and all these years of them not winning consistently, that it was me. Because the one time - the ONE TIME - I deigned to root for the Penguins, they go and blow it.

This wasn't something I wanted to do, believe me. I certainly didn't enjoy it and I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon. But as everyone knows, my other team is the Canadiens. And the Canadiens find themselves in the middle of a dog race for that 8th and final playoff spot with, among other teams, the Rangers...who were hosting the Penguins. Tonight was New York's game in hand on the Habs, so I had no choice. I need a team that I like to make the postseason, I'm not sure how many other ways I can say it.

Really, I had no choice.

I HAD NO CHOICE!

But alas, the evil ones under the leadership of Crybaby failed to hang in there long enough and they lost 2-1 in the dying seconds of regulation. Naturally the game-winning goal was by Jagr...although not really. One of the Penguins' defensemen kind of scored it on his own goalie.

*Sigh*...and my wonderful luck strikes again.

I've been talking about the Penguins too much, I fear. No more. I'm done.

On to happier things, because the Caps are on a two-game winning streak, we're one-fifth of the way through the work week, and the playoffs are almost here.

By the way...have you submitted your nickname yet??

yes, yes. good, good. leave the rooting for the Pens to us.

though it likely had less to do with you than with playing 5 games in a week.

by the way, exactly how in the hell do the caps score 12 goals in two games without a single point from ovie?

In situations when you need a hated team to come out on top (any team from Pennsylvania (except Hershey), any team from NY, or any team from Texas), I find it more palatable to hope the other team loses. In other words, you should have been cheering for the Rangers to lose.

Mebbe it's a semantics thing, but it helps me sleep at night.

If that's the case, feel free to NEVER root for the Penguins again. :)

Ugh, I'm not a Jagr-hater (anymore), but I seriously wanted to kick him in the face. I might have to stand on a stool to do it, though...

It seems appropriate that on the night when a Caps fan cheers for the Pengyunz Jagr is responsible for the loss.

Good, because I was getting a little worried and confused. :p

Geeves: Don't underestimate my powers. It's dangerous. And I have NO idea how Ovie didn't get a point in either of the last 2 games, but I'm looking on the bright side. See? The Caps are more than just one player! They're also...um...Boyd Gordon. :)

Victor: I'm always cheering for the Rangers to lose. Always. Even when they're further out of it than we are.

Elly: Now that I've discovered my powers, I make no guarantee ;) Oh, and you may want to kick him in the face - I want to kick him other places. To each her own.

WFY: I'm working on a theory that proves Jagr is responsible for all the evil and bad things in the world. I'll keep you posted.

HG: BAD LITTLE PENGUINS! NO MORE! ALL CAPITALS! :D

Whew...did I get everyone?

Ooooh, evil intentions are brewing, I can tell! If they fall to the Islanders, I'm going to blame you! :)

I -would- have said other places, but I figure he was emasculated enough when he got off the iceberg and ended up with the Rangers.

Oops. I need the Islanders to lose that one, too.

Uh...uh...GO ISLANDERS! :)

(You know, if Montreal hadn't completely collapsed earlier in the year, I wouldn't have to do this. I blame the Habs.)

Oh? Rangers vs Flyers: What you gonna root for there?
