New Blood Inspires New Life

Nothing like a spirited game from start to finish by the Caps to show just how excited these guys are to meet their new teammates, right?

Put the questions about the goaltending situation behind you; worry not about Ovechkin's continued goal-scoring drought. Because all that matters right now is that this was a huge team win tonight, with stellar performances from Olie Kolzig and Brooks Laich capping off a tremendous game for everyone in red white and blue.

...of course since the Devils are utterly useless the good guys gain no ground on the Canes, but the win does keep them on pace with Carolina which is important. Still having games in hand is also important, and the Caps can take some revenge on New Jersey for their idiocy on Friday - and they'll have some new friends to help them out.

Great game, great win, and most importantly, two points!

As a habs fan from France, I'm really sad to see Huet leave. But it's a great trade for you guys. He's not only a good goalie, he's also a great person. The guy is a class act, he was a fan favorite in Montreal since day one, and I bet people are gonna love him too in Washington.

The good news for him is that he won't have to face Ovechkin four times a year now, the bad news is he'll face Ovie's shots everyday during practice... ;-)

Good luck, I'll certainly root for the caps to make the playoffs with Huet.

There was definitely a buzz in the air last night, extending to the point that the game's three stars were like pre-game introductions before a playoff game or something. The crowd gave the team a standing ovation in the game's final seconds, while Laich and Kolzig got HUGE cheers during the three stars.

It was a great day to be a Caps' fan and I can't wait for Friday night's game in Jersey.

I'm going on record to say that I liked Brooksie before he started going crazy and I'm not on the band wagon. ;)

That was a really great game to watch and it was a good end to a very successful day in Caps Nation.

I found Laich on myspace when he first got here a few years back and requested him to be "my friend"...he denied my request...after Tuesday night I can forgive him...plus it was pretty creepy...
