Injured Reserve: Steve Eminger, Eric Fehr

Surprises? Not really any at this point, although Eminger's appearance on the IR can be viewed either as a way to hold onto more bodies until a trade can be made or as a sign that maybe that nagging ankle injury is still bothering him. Sadly I'd put my money on the former and Eminger's days as a Cap look to be numbered...and I still can't believe that Schultz gets the call over him. We'll see what happens in the coming days, I guess.

So the Caps go with 7 defensemen and 14 forwards for opening night, Dave Steckel finally makes the team, and Ben Clymer is a Bear. For now. Strange doings around here...strange but wonderful in the long run. I'm ready, let's go already!
